One Building · Four Independent Specialists · Shared Mission

Our Partners

Kaos isn’t just a gym, it’s a multi-tenant facility where four independent specialist organizations operate under one roof. Pelvic health, injury management, Olympic weightlifting, and athletic performance. Each is delivered by its own credentialed expert, all accessible to our community.

Independent & Aligned

Separate companies, shared standards

Why we built it this way

The serious athletes training at Kaos (postpartum mothers, CAF members, masters lifters, return-to-sport competitors) need more than coached classes. They need specialist coaching, pelvic health care, body composition tracking, and rehab support. Building all of that in-house would have meant doing each badly. Partnering with the best independent practitioners in each area means our community gets specialist-grade expertise without specialist-grade overhead.

Each partner is a separate company with its own license, insurance, billing, and ownership. We share space, standards, and a referral relationship. Not equity. That structure is intentional. It protects our community (you’re getting the actual specialist, not a Kaos employee playing dress-up) and it protects the partners (their clinical or coaching judgment isn’t subordinated to a gym owner’s bottom line).

114 Chain Lake Drive · One Roof, Five Organizations

Kaos CrossFit owns and operates the facility. Pelvico subleases its own dedicated suite. Cardinal, Primo, and GRND are independent contractors who deliver their services on-site. This is the only address in Halifax where you’ll find this combination operating together.

Pelvico Health Centre

Orthopaedic and pelvic health physiotherapy plus registered massage therapy
Clinical Partner · Suite 5

What they do

Pelvico is a Halifax physiotherapy and massage therapy clinic specifically tailored to active people, covering both orthopaedic and pelvic health. While most practices are built around general-population care, Pelvico’s clinicians understand barbell sport, CrossFit, running, and the demands those place on the body. They treat the people we train.

Conditions they treat

  • Sport and athletic injuries
  • Lower back pain
  • Sprains, strains, and other musculoskeletal conditions
  • Postpartum recovery and return-to-sport
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction (incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain)
  • Painful intercourse / sexual health concerns
  • Pre/post-operative care for pelvic and orthopaedic surgeries
  • Pelvic floor concerns specific to weightlifters and HYROX athletes
  • Diastasis recti assessment and treatment

Why it matters at Kaos

Many of our postpartum athletes and CAF members were dealing with pelvic health issues that mainstream physio wasn’t addressing well. Having Pelvico at Suite 5 means specialized care happens where the training happens, coaches and clinicians collaborate, the athlete doesn’t have to choose between two appointments.

Cardinal Performance

General personal training & injury management
Specialist PT · Catherine

What it is

Cardinal Performance is Catherine’s independent personal training company, operating inside Kaos. They work with a broad range of clients on general strength and conditioning, with a particular focus on injury management: keeping people training safely around what hurts, and progressing them back to full capacity.

Who Catherine works with

  • Clients new to structured training who want a credentialed coach, not a YouTube workout
  • Athletes managing acute or chronic injuries who need programming that works around limitations
  • Post-physiotherapy clients bridging from rehab back to full training
  • Members who want focused 1-on-1 attention alongside their group class membership
  • People returning to fitness after extended time away, surgery, illness, life changes

Credentials & approach

CrossFit Level 2 · 10+ years personal training experience. Programming emphasizes biomechanical precision, progressive overload, and intelligent regression around injury, so the parts that work stay strong while the parts that hurt heal. The unrushed, individualized timeline is the value: clients come back stronger because they weren’t pushed back too soon.

Primo Weightlifting

Olympic weightlifting & strength sport coaching
Specialist PT · JP

What it is

Primo Weightlifting is JP’s independent Olympic Weightlifting coaching company, operating on Kaos’s platforms. Specialty: 1-on-1 Olympic weightlifting development for athletes who want a coach focused exclusively on snatch, clean & jerk, and the strength behind them.

Who JP works with

  • Competitive lifters preparing for sanctioned meets
  • CrossFit athletes who want to fix the lifts holding them back
  • Masters lifters returning to barbell sport
  • Beginners who want to learn Olympic lifts properly from session one

Credentials & approach

CSCS · NCCP Comp Dev Trained. Programming combines technical refinement with strength development. Primo clients often layer JP’s coaching on top of Kaos’s group Olympic Weightlifting program to accelerate technical mastery.

GRND Athletics & Performance

Sport-specific athletic development & return-to-sport
Specialist PT · Jenn

What it is

GRND Athletics & Performance is Jenn’s independent personal training company, operating inside Kaos. Specialty: sport-specific performance development and the bridge between rehab and competitive return.

Who Jenn works with

  • Competitive athletes building sport-specific capacity
  • Post-physiotherapy clients ready to load again but not yet ready for full team practice
  • Adolescent athletes building long-term physical literacy
  • Masters athletes maintaining performance across decades

Credentials & approach

Sports performance specialist. Programming emphasizes movement quality, force production, and the specific demands of the sport the athlete plays. GRND clients often layer Jenn’s sessions on top of their normal team practice or Kaos classes for targeted weak-point work.

🇨🇦 Serving Members & Veterans

Kaos is veteran-founded and located 20 minutes from CFB Halifax / Stadacona. Our clinical partner Pelvico Health Centre offers direct billing through Medavie Blue Cross for CAF members and through VAC (Veterans Affairs Canada) for veterans. For many serving members and veterans, this means specialized pelvic health, postpartum care, and general physiotherapy at little or no out-of-pocket cost.

Partner FAQ

Are Pelvico, Cardinal, Primo, and GRND owned by Kaos?
No. Each is a completely separate company with its own ownership, license, insurance, and billing. They lease coaching or clinical time at our facility, but they’re independent. Kaos doesn’t take a cut of their fees, and they don’t take a cut of Kaos’s. The relationship is partnership-based.
Do I need a Kaos membership to work with a partner?
No. Pelvico patients, Cardinal/Primo/GRND PT clients, none need to be Kaos members. You can work directly with any partner independently. That said, many cross over: a Pelvico patient who’s cleared for training often joins Kaos classes; a Cardinal PT client often layers Kaos group classes for conditioning.
How do referrals work between partners?
Informally. If a Kaos coach notices a pelvic floor issue during training, they’ll suggest Pelvico. If Catherine notices their client needs more general conditioning, they’ll suggest a Kaos class membership. If JP’s client wants to scale to general fitness, he’ll point them to CrossFit. We don’t pay each other referral fees, we just send people to the specialist that fits their need.
Does Kaos vet the partners?
Before any organization operates inside our building, we verify credentials, insurance, and approach alignment. Pelvico’s clinicians are licensed physiotherapists. Cardinal, Primo, and GRND each hold relevant national-level coaching certifications. We don’t bring in anyone whose work we wouldn’t recommend to a family member.
Why doesn’t Kaos just hire these specialists as employees?
Three reasons. (1) Clinical care is regulated separately from fitness, a physiotherapist can’t legally be supervised by a non-clinician gym owner. (2) Specialist coaches do better work when they own their book of business than when they’re salaried staff. (3) Keeping them independent protects the integrity of their judgment, Catherine doesn’t have to upsell a Kaos membership to keep their book, and Pelvico’s clinical decisions aren’t subordinated to a gym’s revenue goals.
Are there discounts for using multiple partners?
Each partner sets their own pricing independently, we don’t bundle them. That said, common patterns: a Kaos Unlimited member working with one of the PTs typically gets the trainer’s full attention because the trainer doesn’t have to teach basic mechanics from scratch. The athletic ROI of stacking is real, even when the financial bundling isn’t.
Can I bring my own physiotherapist or coach into the facility?
For occasional sessions with an established client, often yes, talk to us. For ongoing operation inside our building, we’d want to discuss a formal partnership arrangement that matches what Pelvico, Cardinal, Primo, and GRND have set up. The point of the multi-tenant model is curation; we keep the bar high on who operates here.
